Updated March 5th: Per federal and state government requirements, COVID vaccines administered at Kansas pharmacies are available to those that live or work in Kansas and meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Over the age of 65
  • Employees of PreK, Head Start programs, and K-12 schools (including teachers, custodians, drivers, and other staff)
  • Employees of child care centers as well as family child care providers
  • Grocery Workers
  • Food Service
  • Retail Workers
  • Factory Workers
  • Long Term Care
  • Assisted Living
  • Food And Agriculture Producers

When making an appointment, you will need to attest that you or the person that you are making the appointment for meets those criteria. If you meet other criteria for the current state phase or are a Missouri resident that works in Missouri, please visit the website of your local health department and/or health system for vaccine appointment.

When appointments are available, they will be active in the drop down menu above. Once each location has hit their maximum number of appointments for the week, when you click on the link, you will see an error message stating that there are no more appointments available for that week.

When you complete the form to make an appointment, you will see a confirmation page with a green checkmark. You will also receive a confirmation email to the email address you entered into the form – please double check that your email is entered correctly! If you do not see either the green check or the confirmation email, you do not yet have an appointment - please try the form again. We are also aware of a limited error where a confirmation email is received without an appointment date/time listed - if this happens, you do have an appointment but it may not be at the time you had selected. Please wait for the pharmacy to contact you at the phone number given in the form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What type of vaccine is being administered?
A: We are administering the Moderna vaccine at all of our pharmacies, so the second dose will be 28 days out from the first.

At the location listed as Price Chopper Vaccine Clinic, which is located at 75th and Metcalf, we are administering the Pfizer vaccine, so second doses of vaccines given at that clinic site will be 21 days out from the first dose.

Q: When will my Balls Food Pharmacy get the COVID vaccine in stock?
A: Our Kansas stores are currently receiving limited doses on a hopefully weekly basis. When dose arrivals are confirmed, we will make new appointments available in the system, so please check back. Our Missouri pharmacies will not likely receive doses until March, so please stay tuned to this page and our social media pages for more information.

Q: Who can get their vaccine from a Balls Foods Pharmacy?
A: Our pharmacies are required to follow guidelines from local and state health departments to decide who to vaccinate. When you make an appointment for a COVID vaccine, you will need to confirm that you are in the current phase, which will be described in the appointment system. For information on who is currently eligible for the COVID vaccine in each state, please visit:

Q: What information will I need to schedule an appointment?
A: You will need to enter the following information into our appointment scheduler: Name, address, date of birth, and phone number.

Q: What do I need to do on the day of my appointment?
A: Please bring your driver’s license or state ID and your insurance card, including your red, white, and blue Medicare Part B card if you have one. You will need to stay in our building for 15 to 30 minutes after each dose, to make sure that you do not have an allergic reaction.

Q: How do I schedule my second dose?
A: When you make your first dose appointment, your second dose appointment will be confirmed for 21-28 days out from your first dose. For example, if your first dose is Monday at 2pm, your second dose will be 3-4 weeks out for Monday at 2pm. You will receive your vaccination record card with your second dose appointment date on the day of your vaccination.
